World Wildlife Day 2024 - Illustration Project -
March 3, 2024 was World Wildlife Day. The theme for the year is “Connecting People and Planet: Exploring Digital Innovation in Wildlife Conservation.” The theme celebrates the invaluable support technology and its innovation have provided to wildlife conservation.
Conservation technology and their innovations such as satellite, acoustic and aerial monitoring, radio tagging, machine learning, artificial intelligence, environmental DNA (eDNA) analysis and advanced alert systems provide invaluable data on species, their population status, biology, and behaviour and helps to identify and quantify concerning threats and avoid negative human-wildlife interactions.
A bright future depends on advancements in technologies and innovations that are fair, accessible, sustainable and efficiently support all the stakeholders in wildlife conservation.
Also, there is a creative satisfaction in using handmade art to share praises of technology, emphasising the value of both human creativity and advanced technology in storytelling.
